  • Do I have to reside in the Village of Wrightstown in order to apply to be a firefighter?

  • Can I open burn such as leaves, grass, rubbish, etc?
    • No. Per Ordinance 139-16, no combustible materials, waste, rubbish, grass, leaves, construction debris, or other refuse shall be burned outdoors in the Village at any time or any place whatever except as follows:
      • Reserved
      • Nothing in this section shall prohibit the burning of any brush in any section of the Village zoned Rural Residential; provided, however, that no said burning may take place without obtaining a permit from the Fire Chief or Fire Inspector.
      • Nothing in this section is intended to prohibit the operation of outdoor grills or fireplaces for outdoor cooking, nor shall recreational fires (campfires) be prohibited as long as they do not exceed 36 inches in diameter. (Amended 2-17-2003 by Ord. No. 02172003A)
      • Nothing in this section shall prohibit the burning of leaves in the months of April, May, October and November, provided that the burning is done in a safe and proper manner and is restricted to between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. (Amended 11-4-1997 by Ord. No. 110497)
      • The Fire Inspector of the Village of Wrightstown has the authority to enforce the provisions of this section.
      • Any violation of the provisions of this section is punishable by the forfeitures in Chapter 1, General Provisions, §1-18.
