Police Crime Prevention Programs

In 1829, a gentleman by the name of Sir Robert Peel created the first modern day police department, the Metropolitan Police, in England. Peel believed that the basic mission for which the police exist is to prevent crime and disorder. According to Peel, the real key for policing is “the police are the people and the people are the police.”

The officers of the Wrightstown Police Department are  proud members of the National Crime Prevention Council and strive to carry on the time tested principles introduced by Sir Robert Peel over 175 years ago through the following crime prevention initiatives in our Village –
